Our Origin Story
I started my journey as a bilingual teacher in a grade five classroom. Soon, I realized that the most profound education occurs beyond four walls, amid the trees and in the soil. Casa Miel is how I share those wonderful outdoor moments with families.
I envisioned a community that values deep bonds over artificial excellence, allowing us to evolve at a natural, gentle pace. We view fluency as a path to global bonding, ensuring our environment stays rooted in the beauty of the natural world.
From seasonal learning pods to friendly neighborhood gatherings, we strive to establish a supportive network for home-based education. We recognize that every child represents a vast, unexplored territory, evolving at their own unhurried tempo.
SonnenBloom Kinderhaus was born from a simple belief: that early education should be a joyful adventure. Our founder, Elodie Bernard, envisioned a space where children are respected as capable learners and where their innate curiosity is the compass for their education. Here, we build a foundation not just for school, but for life.
Casa Miel translates to 'honey house' — a cozy, inviting sanctuary where we cultivate sweetness together. We cherish the patient flow of youth, prioritizing authentic play and human connection as the cornerstones of every educational experience.

Our Philosophy
Dual Language
We see communication as a gateway to the planet. Our dual-language method fosters wonder and unity through the cadence of Spanish and English, creating a groundwork for lasting expression and an international perspective.
Earth
The outdoors is where we learn. We encourage kids to discover the earth's cycles, from land to air, building an intimate bond with the environment through tactile exploration and relaxed, open-air engagement.
Belonging
We create a supportive network for home-schooling groups, centered on relationship over flawlessness. Together we develop at a steady pace, providing a kind and nurturing space for children.
Gentle Growth
We treat education as a path, not a competition. By respecting each child's inherent Drive and speed, we nurture a lifelong passion for discovery free from the stress of being perfect.
Equipped with a Master's in Education and a Bachelor's in Psychology, I searched for a lifestyle that respected the entire child. I wanted a haven where unity mattered more than results, allowing us to thrive slowly with honey in our hearts.
The Founder
My career started in schools teaching bilingual fifth graders. However, I soon discovered that the most impactful lessons happened in the mud, under the canopy, and through play. Casa Miel is my project to bring that organic wonder to our local community.
Currently, I am a devoted wife and mother of two daughters. I founded Casa Miel as a cozy, slow-paced environment to evolve. It is a nature-focused, bilingual circle centered on child-led exploration within the stunning Little Falls scenery.
